They sound, feel and look like no other. I'm breaking in my new 61 RI at the DALLAS DOOM DAZE festival this weekend. I'm cranking it loud and proud through 2 100 watt halfstacks ! Now that's love brothers and sisters !!!

It's a versatile guitar. My SG can go from a quiet whisper to screaming bloody murder. Plus, it's my favorite design for an electric guitar. Ever. My first real electric guitar was an SG. I got it when I was 16. I'm 32 now, and I still have it. I love it.

I'm used to playing rather heavy guitars as Les Pauls n' 335's, but I have had a soft spot for a SG since "Live at Leeds" with the Who...in october I was in San Francisco and found a Gibson SG Classic with P90ths....to my surprice it felt as good as it looked! And the P90ths on this ex was brilliant...I love to use a crunch sound as standard and the singel coils are tops for "almostclean" when turned down:)

Suddenly it's my main guitar, in competition with a 335 pro-82 and a Fender Esquire-66

Not bad for a -04 SG!!!

Hi guys...first post here responding to the myspace bulletin....I have a '72 SG that I have customized (because I found it in rather poor condition when I acquired it) now its a Gem....the reason I love it is because of the neck access when wearing a strap live...its like it was built to be played standing...I have never found a guitar that sets so well in a strap...or felt so good....it seems to defy guitar physics by being light at the same time sounding ballsy...I am totally salivating over the raw power maple neck SG and I soooo wish I could afford one-Jeff

I bought my '61 not so much to use on gigs alot (I'm a Tele picker;no more expressive guitar in the world!) but It was what I grew up playing exclusively in the 60's & 70's, and I just liked the look of having one around the house next to my old Pro Reverb to remind me of the good ol' days. I use it occasionally on a gig when I'm gonna be playing rock & blues, but mostly, I'm a country picker & pedal steel player.

i mostly love it cause i got it in a trade for 300 and a sans amp. its a 2004 standard!!! the thing plays and sounds like a dream. its light and way more comfy then a les paul! plus whats better than an sg standard through a jcm 900 half stack? for some reason it doesn't like florida all the time though.. weird i know.

I love everything about my SG 61 Reissue...the shape, the color, the sound, the action...all add up to make the best guitar ever!

I bought my SG after seeing Ian Mackaye, of Fugazi, has one, and found that it's extremely versatile for use in all kinds of music

Because any time I step on stage with it I feel incredibly empowered. when I would play another kind of guitar, i just wouldn't get the feeling, sound, and over all awesomeness of an SG. I love my SG and I won't play anything else.

My SG is the only guitar that I can really express myself with.

I actually went into a local music shop on my way back from work the other day to try out some amps. I was playing through a really nice boutique amp called a "Divided by 13" and it sounded GREAT. The only problem was that none of the guitars in the store felt right. It felt like someone else was playing through the amp. I tried almost every nice Gibson and Fender in the store and I couldn't enjoy myself.

The next day I brought in my SG and tried out the same amp.

Pure heaven.

It also helps that it always turns a few heads too.

I Love my 2001 SG Standard, because I turned it into a Gary Rossington model before Gibson did! HA! Beat ya to the punch! Burstbucker 1, Burstbucker 2, CTS and Bumble Bee equipped. It sounds unbelievable, plays like butter!! My SG stands for "Sweet Guitar"!! Below are some pics...
