Rolling a bound fretboard edge

My used Les Paul has fretboard edges that are a bit sharp. 

Prior owner wore down treble side a bit, but really, this Trad should have softer shoulders.

Nibs are still perfectly intact, so not sure how rolled edge can even work.

So, what's a safe method to roll the outer edges of the fretboard binding?
