Sgt. Pepper Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Anyone brave enough to go out and attempt to go shopping today. That‘s a hard N O from me. Watched the new Beatles documentary, strummed a bit. I’m a Raiders fan, but not in the mood to watch my team get slaughtered, and see Mrs. Kelce’s face every 5 seconds in a luxury box. 1 Quote
ksdaddy Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Ain’t happening. Also, we do our grocery shopping at Walmart on Friday late afternoon. Not today. Nope. Nein. Nyet. 1 Quote

Nein. Nyet. I work p/t in a grocery store. Wednesday was an absolute Zoo. We had one case of collard greens (nasty big green leaves even rabbits don’t like) to last the entire day. They were gone in an hour. All day I was getting asked if there were any in the back, as I work in the produce section. Apparently the store is unaware they are located in the South. One lady asked if we had turnips. Took her to where they were. She told me those are not turnips. That’s funny it says they are on the bag. Then she grabbed a rutabaga. I told her that’s not a turnip. She told me a rutabaga was a northern turnip. Um no, you don’t get to make up the names of the vegetables, the botanists already did. I hate people. kidblast Posted November 29 Posted November 29 (edited) I had to go to Home Depot to get a few sets of lights for the tree which we put up today, in fact, soon! While the parking lot was a kill or be killed situation, once in the store I was in and out just like most days. The Grocery store on Wednesday when the wife and I went to grab the last-minute stuff, it was pandemonium. Edited November 29 by kidblast Quote
sparquelito Posted November 29 Posted November 29 We don't Christmas shop. Everybody that we love and care about gets whatever they want from us, year 'round. Without little kids around, Christmas is more of a spiritual nod to the son of man than it is about presents and trees and lights. Around here anyway. I left the house twice today. Once to go swim cardio laps at the wellness center, and later on to take the wife to lunch at a local joint, Mia's Cafe. Took the side roads coming and going. Traffic could have been murder. 🙂 Quote

RBSinTo Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Boys, boys, boys, This isn't a new situation, so you shouldn't be surprised by the traffic in stores on this day. The solution is to shop on other days instead. RBSinTo Quote
merciful-evans Posted November 30 Posted November 30 The consumer association I consult reports that the vast majority of BF deals are not deals at all. Genuine ones are rare. Maybe not so for USA. So I just assume that its all b0llocks and ignore it. Yes, and the only shopping I did yesterday was online groceries delivered. We didn't have Black Friday until a few years ago. Just like we didn't have Halloween, popcorn in cinemas, Walmart and School proms. There are many of us that would like to thank the USA for these things. Even some old people. Quote

I was so happy when they left LA. Although I am willing to give you guys Matt Stafford for your #1 pick in 2025. Quote

The Rams aren’t the team they were a few seasons ago. They won 2, and have been in 4 if memory serves me correctly. Edited Tuesday at 02:06 AM by Sgt. Pepper Quote
duane v Posted Tuesday at 02:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:57 PM My Rams be struggling..... I remember my pops was pissed when the Rams traded Goff for Stafford, and to be honest I never really heard of Stafford until the trade. But after I looked at his career win loss record I gasped.... But we got a Super Bowl win. I think Stafford is slowing down at a pretty dramatic pace... he so slow he cant get out of his own way. Quote

They would have done so stupid like trade him. Whoever gets Roger’s next year is in store for more “it’s not me it’s the other 10 guys on offense’s fault”. Stafford like The Beatles was at the right place at the right time. Wonder what he would have done if the Lions kept him? Edited Tuesday at 03:37 PM by Sgt. Pepper Quote

He had some monster games with the Rams, but McVay and his passive / aggressive behavior towards Goff was a crappy way to treat you #1 pick.... Plus McVay has zero patience. I would personally like to see a better head coach that works better with young players. To me McVay acts like one of the players instead of a coach which is okay if you like that style of coaching, but I think it hurts the team. Quote
