Comes in handy when we do "Red House" and "The Lemon Song", both are in 'A'.
callen3615
I never plays scales. I play harmonic minor out of habit. And the one pentatonic scale I know. I need to learn more. I just know what to do with them...

Californiaman
I love the natural A minor scale. Try adding the A major scale and blending the two.
djroge1
If I remember correctly, the Natural Minor scale is the basis for the most used Pentetonic (blues) scale. Therefore, you can go between the two interchangably. What I've really been trying to work on is the Melodic Minor scale. You can play a melodic minor scale 1/2 step above the V chord to give a strong lead back into the I chord. So if you are playing a simple blues (I-IV-V) in the key of A (A-D-E) when you get to the E chord (V) you can play an F Melodic Minor to lead back into the A chord (I).
