jalexquijano
Is there any real noticeable difference between the stock ceramic disc and bumblebee capacitors. My 2004 Les Paul Standard came with two 0.02 mf ceramic disc capacitors. Should I replace them with the bumblebee capacitors? Please advise. FennRx
there is a difference, but it might not be as much as you would think. what exactly are you unhappy about?
jalexquijano
there is a difference' date=' but it might not be as much as you would think. what exactly are you unhappy about?[/quote'] I want to get the Jimmy Page 72-73 live tone from The Song Remains the Same concerts without installing the push pull jimmy page wiring. Meaning, keep my wiring as stock as it came in order to preserve the original les paul sound. My guitar comes with 2 burstbucker pro pickups, Burstbucker pro 1 in the neck and 2 in the bridge. Which internet shops do you recommend for obtaining good value original gibson replacement parts?
Tim Plains
Bumblebee caps are paper in oil caps.
FennRx
just so you know, the "jimmy page" wiring occurred after LZ ended. in order to do it, you neeed to get push/pull pots and pickups with 4 leads. the gibson pickups that would be good for a JP sound are not available as 4 lead. you can buy PAF clones from any number of companies. personally, i would switch the BB Pros for BB1/2 and then add an RS 50s wiring kit if needed. i wouldnt mess with the push/pull. i had it done to my Classic after i replaced the pickups with boutiques. it didnt work that great, so i sold the guitar and bought a Historic. problem solved. Tim Plains
^ That's kind of what I was hinting at in the other thread this guy started but I guess he forgot about it. The historic part, that is... http://forums.gibson.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=19475

Tim Plains
Yes there is. They'll make a slight improvement but it's nothing like replacing your pickups. Just buy them and get it over with...
