finding the right pickups to fit my VINTAGE SG?

OK, heres my latest project,

I found this old SG deluxe hiding in the back of my local music store,

I inquired to the man about it and he said it was an old project he never finished, or planned to finish anytime soon. He quoted me a MORE than fair price, almost free.

the only problem with this thing is finding out what year it is and finding the parts to fit it.

as far as i know gibson serial numbers are read by the 1st and 5th number, which apparently would be a '66?

but wikipedia says gibson didnt make sg deluxe in the 60's , apparently only in the 70's???

pictures will follow words etc.

but anyways........

ive been looking for parts for this thing, pickguard isnt a problem, but the pickups are whats really hard to find.

The man at the music store said this was a p-90 model?

and he said they were soapbar p-90's? but they seem more like "dogears" due to cavity size and shape,

if anyone could help me find out what pickups will fit this thing, and where i can get a set?

i would greatly appreciate it, just PM me

I take that back... if you saw it before the edit.

It looks like an SG-200.

It wouldn't have had dogear P-90s, because they're routed the same as a soapbar... the only difference is how they're mounted. Originally, it would have had single-coils, but with that routing your options are single coils, P-90s, or mini-humbuckers.

That doesn't fit the serial number, though... which brings me back to my original thought, Melody Maker... but the control cavity is wrong for that.

There's another version of this SG, but it also has a small LP like pickgaurd.
