stevezapp
I've got the offer of this custom for £600 (approx$1000). Sounds too good to be true, I know. I have my suspicions of the authenticity thanks to the two pics he's sent through. Take a look and feedback please!

tenno
I'm no expert but I'd say it's a fake. I think Customs should have ebony fretboard...
jertum
I'm no expert either but the shape looks a little bit off to me, a big long and thin. Of course that could just be the angle of the photo. One thing i've noticed is that the pickup selector switches on real Gibsons are smooth to use- almost cushioned. Fakes/copies tend to have very 'clicky' switches. Of course I could be talking bullsh*t- i'm a player, not a collector. Is there a serial number on it?

BIGBENDS
Oooo. That's a nice fake. Buy it for $1.99 an proceed to break it into tiny pieces. Some lighter fluid and a match and you have the beginnings of a nice bonfire. Don';t forget the marshmallows.

steve167
Yup and the script font on the truss rod cover isn't right. That was the first funky looking thing that caught my eye. Compare your shot to the one from Are Nine and you can see.
stevezapp
I've had a reply from the seller, and he's said he'll take it back to the shop he bought it from. Something doesn't quite sit right though, because he said he'd swap it for a Schecter Synyster Standard, which are only £650 ($1000) new, and as we all know, this particular LP (when genuine) is worth a hell of a lot more... pippy
I've had a reply from the seller' date=' and he's said he'll take it back to the shop he bought it from.[/quote'] If you can be bothered it would be an idea to alert the local Boys in Blue as the seller/dealer will probably try the same stunt out on someone else. Bit of a hassle, though...
stevezapp
The chap has just informed me that he took the guitar back to the shop he bought it from and got a refund. There obviously are some genuine guys out there that just get unlucky!
