ics1974 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I can get one in good condition for $2400 Canadian. Is that a good deal?
ics1974 Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 a 1960 Reissue? a Classic? or a real 1960 LP? 1960 Reissue Classic
AXE® Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 That would be the Classic. Which is not a reissue. That 1960 pickguard should have never been put on those things. The neck is the only thing it has in common with a RI or an original. The price seems a bit high also. Get some pictures up.
FennRx Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 if its a Classic, those go for about $1200 USD (except for the early 90s ones). if its a classic plus, then its worth a bit more
ics1974 Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Here is the ad. http://kingston.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-musical-instruments-1960-Gibson-Les-Paul-W0QQAdIdZ130669757
AXE® Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 One of the problems is... Some of these boobs selling, actually believe they have a 1960 Les Paul due to lack of knowledge and experience.
cdntac Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 You'd think the guy would put a bit of info with his ad! There are often some good used Les Paul's at The 12th Fret in Toronto. I check their website daily to see what's on it though they only put guitars that cost more than $1000 on their website (usually). They probably have other used Les Pauls that aren't their website though. When I was there a few weeks ago they had a Les Paul BFG for $600.00. They have some late '70s Les Pauls on their website: http://www.12fret.com/used/index.html#SOLIDBODY Give them a call....you never know what they may have.
ics1974 Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Thanks for letting me know it's not a good deal. I will check out 12thfret
Tim Plains Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 A new one http://www.lamusic.ca/default.asp?szNav=Product&PID=16162
Tim Plains Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 That does seem awfully expensive considering they're as little as $1,200 US. I just went onto LA Music's website (Canadian retailer) and a new one costs $2,900 now. That's nuts...
