1965 Gretsch Country Gentleman, 1966 Epiphone Casino (my first one), 1968 Gibson LP Custom, '68 SG Standard,

1968 Gibson ES-355 (cherry red), 1968 Rickenbacker 360-12-string (Jetglow), 6-Vox Super Beatle amps, and

Altec Lansing "Voice of the Theater" PA system...a 1969 Marshall "Major" 200watt Full Stack (Tall boy cabinets),

1967 Fender Twin Reverb JBL. Yeah, that about covers it! Everything since then, I've kept. I only sold all that stuff,

because then, and for 3 decades afterward, I didn't play at all. And, back then...there was no such things as

"Vintage" guitars/amps...they were just 'used!" Who knew?!! ;>b LOL!

1976 Les Paul Black Beauty with brass nut. I was convinced that at 11 lbs. it was just too heavy. Sold it for a "song" in 1982 and later acquired a Gibson Flying V2 which I still have and never really play. Young and foolish at the time. #-o

Strangely enough I only found this snap last week.

Guitarsonbedlo-res.jpg

The only guitars I still have from here are the Gold-Top copy (which I'll never sell just because it was my first guitar) and the almost invisible f-hole archtop just discernible in the gloom at the extreme right-hand-side.

The Lake Placid Blue Strat was my '64 that I had for 24 years and I'd like it back now, please.

The funny black thing was my 1967 Fender Swinger that I sold for peanuts as a student desperate for cash but not wanting to tap the folks for more. It was 3/4 scale and sounded crap. I'd love to have it back as it's such an unusual and rare thing.

The others I don't miss at all. The Daphne Blue 'Strat' is actually a Tokai.

The only other thing I miss was an original 1960's Marshall 2x10 combo similar to the famous 'Bluesbreakers' amp. It needed re-coned and I had the opportunity to offload it and replace it with my MusicMan 2x12 but I wish I'd had the chance to have kept it.

i would never sell my les paul studio, i have too much love for that guitar, i wouldnt sell my classical because it wass my first, no matter how crappy, and my line 6 i would sell in a heartbeat, though no one with sense would buy it. and to tell a beginner its a good amp for long use would just be cruel

I sold a Goldtop Gibson Les Paul Deluxe about 20 years ago. I don't even know what year the guitar was. But with what I know now about guitars, that would be a good one today. I never had it set-up, didn't know any better. It played ok so I didn't mess with it. I know better these days.

I regret selling my first guitar. I got it when I was 12. It was this piece of crap Korean Strat copy with a neck like a baseball bat, and one noisy single coil, but I kind of wish I had it now. -Just for sentimental value. Oh well.

Rickenbacker 330/6

Peavey EVH Wolfgang

I miss them both dearly.........

I currently own "new" 2008 Rickenbackers...

620 6-string in Midnight Blue

360 12-string in Fireglo

Till death do us part then :-

I post on the Rickenbacker forums too and they horde their guitars even more than Gibson owners do....

Every Gibson I've ever sold: a '69 LP Deluxe (black), an early-'70 LP Custom (white), a mid-'60s 335 (walnut), and even my '82 LP Standard (natural). The Norlins were damn good guitars. I guess I got lucky. I sure wish I had 'em back.

I'll never sell another Gibson.

In the mid 80s I stumbled across an apartment sale in Chicago's DePaul neighborhood and immediately noticed a chipboard guitar case leaning in the corner. Upon opening the case I discovered what turned out to be a 1966 Gibson SG Jr. with an added Badass bridge but, other than that, remarkably clean in a sweet cherry finish. I asked "how much?” the young lady demurely said “$10”, I quickly paid her and left. This single pick-up beauty became my “couch” guitar, you know, the one that’s always next to wear you sit for easy pickin’ and noodlin’ while watching TV.

Anyway, long story short, a few years later I attended a Vintage Guitar show with my prize and was very quickly accosted by some professional guitar buyers and just as quickly sold her for $400.

So, even though I “stole” her and made a tidy sum, I miss her and these things now get tall $$$$$. Oh well!

I won’t tell you about the house I bought a few years later where the owners left an early 70s SG and a Japanese 12-string………
