EVOL!

Well we Buffalo fans care. That's because we are THE true hockey town. Seriously, we have more watching per capita than any other place in the US, including Detroit. The problem is that the rest of the country is not like us, which is why you have this problem. It's worse now with the economy. There were actually empty seats in the last Detroit game!

Yeah it's ****in' ridiculous. If I do recall correctly, last year none of the regular cable broadcasters had, I think, Game 2 or Game 3 or something on. I live in PA and am a big Penguins fan and just stupefied when they would rather broadcast a tv interview with some little kid with no importance than play one of the most important hockey games of the season. Oh and I believe they had MMA fighting on versus; personally I think hockey is more entertaining than that..

I suspect the empty seats at the Detroit games have more to do with the local economy than with a lack of willing fans.

Yeah it's too bad. BTW, Scotty Bowman lives only a few miles from me. He fell in love with the Buffalo area when he coached here years ago.

I'm not from a huge hockey town but i do LOVE watching the Bruins.

+2, 4, 24, and 77

I missed out on most of this season, although I'm not too upset. All the announcers seem to talk about is Sean Avery, and it's not as good on the tube. Is it just me, or is Sean Avery the Paris Hilton of hockey? Just kind of ******bag that became popular because he's such an officious ****.

I won't deny that Buffalo is an amazing hockey city; one of the top three in the States, but Detroit is Hockeytown USA. If you would have had one of the original six NHL teams I would yield to you.

One of my hopes with the salary cap and greater parity across the NHL was that Buffalo would rise up and take the East. Lindy Ruff is one of the greatest coaches in the NHL and he deserves another shot at Lord Stanley's Cup. My biggest concerns would be if the NHL caves and allows a second team in Southeastern Ont. I hear they are looking at Hamilton.

Yes, it sucks a$$. I never understood why hockey was treated as second tier sport. Maybe it was colored by where I grew up: in a border town 60miles North of Detroit. In the days before cable we watched a lot of the 'Ceeb. Hockey Night in Canada was a much a part of my childhood as HotWheels and GI Joe.
