heymisterk
Just curious. I've heard many opinions of "worst quality" decades from the '70s to now. I've heard that the '90s has better build quality than now; but my '96 SG Standard wasn't nearly as well-built as my '06 SG Classic...
FirstMeasure
I hate to say it, but the examples I've seen in the stores over the last 10 years have been way under what I'd expect from Gibson. Especially when it comes to finishes. I was looking at a $1600 J-45 that had drips and a big "Line" in the finish. I've seen more than one Bowed Neck on Studio Les Pauls and Gibson Logos that were ready to fall right off the Head Stock. While the Epiphones built in Korea are of the Highest Quality finishes. Kind of disappointing. {edit} The "One That Got Away" for me was a '72. It was the nicest one I've played, but I haven't had a chance to play anything from the 50's or 60's (except one '68? Black Beauty that was really Sweet).
