Paperweight Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 As some of you may know, a lot of the new Gibson guitars have a printed circuit board in the control cavity. If you want to change pickups, you will want to get a connector to plug into the board. After searching around this afternoon, I found them. It is also printed on the side of the connector itself but is only visible if you turn it under the light just so. The connectors are the Molex 43645 series. Mouser part number for the 2 pin pickup connectors is 538-43645-0200. The 5 pin selector switch connector is 538-43645-0500. Both of these parts are less than 50 cents. I hope this helps someone who has been searching for these. Good luck.
Paperweight Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 You also have to order the female pins for the connectors as well. They are the 43030 series. You have several options, wire guage 20-24 or 26-30 and tin or gold contacts. The gold plating comes in 2 thicknesses, 15 or 30u". I don't have the pins yet but from what I've been told, you can carefully solder the wire inside the pin then pop it into the connector housing.
