I was just wondering about the heritage cherry finish on the SG Standard. Is this cherry finish similar to the wine red on the les paul studio? I wanted a color different to this. Stevie Nazarenie Posted June 1, 2009 Share Posted June 1, 2009 i had a standard in wine red and have a g400 in wine red. they are just that, the colour of wine. i didn't like mine with green tuners. i often see wine red being sold as cherry so i assume people assume they are the same. cherry is lighter despite my original want of cherry i think i like wine red better. although i now have gold hardware. as far as the amp goes, test it out well. a marshall plexi is my fav a marshall jcm 800 is not.
