Ian s
I'm looking into getting a 345 (vintage reissue model) and am curious as to the available finishes. Does anyone know if the currently listed "translucent brown" is the same as what used to be called "wallnut"? I have a 70s Wallnut 335, and I really like the look of the wallnut 345s I've seen over the years, but all the new reissues I see seem to be one or other of the sunburst finishes. I'm hoping that "trans brown" is the same finish, but just not called "wallnut" anymore as obviously it's not made of wallnut wood!
Wondo
I do belive it is very close to the Walnut finish. Some websites even advertise it as Walnut. I am getting the triburst color. I don't know how this will look in person. I wanted the Vintage Sunburst but that does not seem to be an available color now. It is either Triburst, Trans Brown or Cherry. Ian s
Thanks Wondo, that seems as I suspected. Here in the UK the Vintage Sunburst seems to be quite widely available, and quite a few places have them in stock, eg: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_guitars_detail.asp?stock=08080414115428 dunno how a UK price compares with a US price though, I suspect we are paying more at the moment!
