youngbucket Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I have recently been looking around at articles and images on google and have found many pictures of axcess customs but i cannot find any for sale and have not heard about axcess customs until then. Lps would be so much easier to play if they all had that easy access neck. The floyd rose wasnt what caught my eye the most. I mean, it would make sense because on the other axcess it says axcess "standard." Just wondering if anybody know anything about thid because i cant stand the neck heel joint on other lps and it has a real nice design. If aybody knows of anything of the sort PLEEZZZZ tell me!
jameswithesg Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 i just looked it up, couldnt find anything just this pic
youngbucket Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 I found a couple reviews and stuff on ultimate-guitar.
LPguitarman Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Floyd Rose on a LP is just wrong. You can also get the Axcess with Stop Bar Tail Piece instead of the Floyd Rose. If I were to buy one, That's what I'd go for. I also think the Floyd Rose has it's place, but not on a Les Paul.

LPguitarman Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 you can? awesome' date=' yeah floyds arent really my thing, but the contoured body and heel is what i like[/quote'] Yes, I saw them advertised right next to the Floyd Rose model in Musicians Friend catalogue. I think it was less expensive too. BTW, love your avatar. I wonder if the headphones are panning from left to right?
deepblue Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Floyd Rose on a LP is just wrong. I agree. It cheapens the look. Floyds are for shredders.
youngbucket Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 yeah i dont really care about the floyd because i could just buy any other lp and put one on there...im just crrazy about that neck heel and body contour, because you get great upper fret axcess and a lot more comfort when playing sitting down. =)
Big Bill Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Sweatwater has one here. Perhaps the sales rep can get you the answers your looking for. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LPXSITCF/
cvansickle Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 That LP looks great to me! I have a 1979 LP Custom Silverburst, and I have a Charvel San Dimas with a Floyd. One guitar that combines the best of both of them? That's for ME!!!
canon_mutant Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I agree. It cheapens the look. Floyds are for shredders. Oh no, Floyds are for the Blues, sweet sweet Blues. And there are plenty of Classic Rock uses as well. I do agree there's something about the LP and a Floyd that just doesn't seem right though.
Sunn O))) Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Oh no' date=' Floyds are for the Blues, sweet sweet Blues. And there are plenty of Classic Rock uses as well.[/quote'] Bigsby is much more classy for the blues.
brundaddy Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Gibson needs to make all their neck heels like this, including the ES line. I wonder if they use a special joint that allows them to grind away/smooth out the heel. Does anybody know? I mean if it's a regulation Gibson dovetail, could people just do an 'Axcess mod' ??
Rushview Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I've seen a Les Paul Axcess that looked like a Custom in Ebony in my local guitar store a while back. Was about the same price as a regular Custom. From the front it looked just like a regular one too, Multi-Ply binding, Gold Hardware, Bound Headstock etc.. but when you turned it round it didn't have a bound back and had all the regular neck & body contouring of the Axcess.
Rick Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 this Axcess Custom is a Standard Axcess,it has only more binding and different inlays... ah,and some hundreds of €/$ more, of course...
Bluesburst Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 There's only one thing wrong with the Axcess (Standard)... And that's the fact it is only from the Custom Shop with it's excessive pricing. I'm a traditionalist and hope to one day have a Historic LP or two, but the Axcess is the logical extension of the LP and would be great if it was a Gibson USA model. Whether with a Floyd Rose or not is unimportant and should be offered in both guises. In these tough economic times, it would make sense to make these great innovations more affordable. And as for Floyd Roses not being suitable for LP's, I'm sure there were purists in 1957 who weren't all that happy about those new fangled "humbucking" pickups to be put on a perfectly good guitar!!! And what's up with the stupid new body shape for the LP in 1961, BAH HUMBUG, it will never last The Axcess should and does have a place. As part of the current LP line-up, like Diamond Dave said about the current Van Halen line-up, "Three parts original, one part inevitable" Hey Gibson, just make the frickin' thing affordable... Over and out Martin

Over and out Martin[/quote'] +1 i like the Axcess with the FR, but i gave up all the chances to get one...it is too expensive, 2280 € (3284 $ circa) are too much for me.... i don't understand why gibson puts on the market guitars at those prices... the Axcess,IMO, is a guitar for the USA run,not for the custom shop one... everyway i'm going to buy a SG standard (or reissue) or another Explorer
