sandpiper249
Hello, When I turn the volume controls back to 8 - 9 i get buzzing / interference noise. At full volume everything is normal. If I touch any earthed parts the noise lessens. My guitar is a les paul custom and is 36 years old. Is it time to refurbish the Pots. I've checked all the earth wiring and all connections. Cheers, Gordon.;)
80LPC
With the age of the guitar, it would be an idea to spray a small amount of contact cleaner inside the pots and rotate them several times.
James Walsh
This same problem showed up in the speed knob on my Kramer GP. Cleaning and checking for broken parts does the trick. Stewmac.com has the spray you need.

[/quote'] Hello 80LPC,, Tried the spray and it's still the same. Think it's time for a complete pot and switch renewal. Thanks for replying Cheers, Gordon. Hello James, I've tried switch cleaner and physically checked all the wiring, (tugging and tapping), but to no avail. Next step is a switch and pot renewal. Thanks for responding so promptly.
