A 1998 Squier Strat, HSS, nice pelham blue, few tiny dings, hardly played, and an Orange Crush 10 amp.

$50 off Craig's List. The lady said her husband never played them, so they had to go. I was first to answer the add. :-

I bought a '57 Bassman at a yard sale with no speakers, rusty, and a dead lizard inside for $10.00.

Sold it for $1000.00, as is.

Gotcha'.....

Back in '72, before the building was completely occupied, me an' my OL did it on the 38th floor (the highest regular floor) of the Transamerica Pyramid building in San Francisco.

True story. I was going to restore it, but didn't really have the knowledge, or the time. I sold it to a guy from the Fender Forum and he dropped another grand in it, and it's worth around 3K now.

Everybody's happy.

I've never played a Squire Strat' date=' is it worth $50?[/quote']

To tell ya the truth, I've never been a fan of Strats, but I like this one. It plays really good, even with a quicky setup.

I think the new versions go for about $300 to $350, and they're made in Korea? This one is MiM.

uh...

$75.00 for an '83 Fender Elite Strat with HS case?

They go for over $1000 on Ebay... the last one I saw went for over $1200.

Sorry man, but Gratz! on your excellent Craigslist deal :-

Hey! That's what this thread's all about.

This is the best deal I've made in quite a while, but I didn't expect a blue ribbon. :-

Great deal Hurph and Chan. I doubt I'll ever get that lucky with gear.

I really dig this little amp too though. It's rather crunchy.

Who's Murph?

Does Hurph know you're hangin' around here?

Gimme a break, I'm on some righteous pain meds.

With or without the dead lizard?

With the dead lizard in, I would have gotten you 2K:-"

I think the deal here was the amp, that is a tasty little amp and can be used for late night playing at home.

The guitar shouldnt be any good, but I'm sure he can get 50 out of it with a little patience... which would mean the amp was free.

1951 ES-175 from original owner with original case (and by the looks of it original strings) for $300 in 1991. Swapped it for a new 40th anniversary Les Paul in 1992

I was given ($0) a 1965 Strat. The neck was twisted and the thing had been spray painted (with a can). This was around 1975. I threw on a new neck, had it repainted (several times now). It's not original any more by any stretch but the guts are stil intact and still plays and sounds great.

Also, traded a PC once for a 1962 Fender Tremolux chasis. Had it re-capped, threw in a new power transformer, and tubes. Built a combo cab for it with 1x12. Great little amp. Btw, got the PC for free to start with.
