Gibson101
After learning that you can get an AJ with a 1 3/4" nut width I want one bad. I'm thinking of selling my J-185 and J-45 RW to fund this purchase. Any thoughts? I also would love to find an old beat up AJ with a 1 3/4" nut if possible, so if anyone has one or comes across one please let me know. I may just take my time with this one and look for a perfect deal. Decisions, decisions!!!

Taylor Player
You do know that the regular AJ has a 1.725" neck don't you? I honestly can't feel a difference when playing between my Taylor 612 with the 1.75" and my AJ. The .25" difference is really next to nothing. I do feel a difference from them when I play my LG1 with the 1 11/16th neck. Doesn't bother me, but I do feel the difference.

[/quote'] Yep I do know that, there is a vintage re-issue out there that has me all in a tizzy. To get that one I have to sell my J-185 and J-45 RW obviously both 1.725 nuts. I LOVE the 1 3/4" nut widths on my Martins and have wanted to get my hands on a 1 3/4" Gibson. I've been playing a lot to try and decide if the small difference is worth it. I'm really hoping some one wants to do a trade some day. I've just got WAY too much money in guitars and I have promised myself no more without selling or trading. It's just that guitar is really pulling on me!!!! Muuuust reeesist......
mannish
my experience says NEVER get rid of a J45 or J50. My collings C10 is 1 3/4, I like it I thought at my age with 15 or 16 guitars already that I was over GAS but the Larivee Parlor and then the Collings C10 obsessed me. I had to have the Collings, just had to have it - incredible guitar
Flinx
I'll bet if you get rid of that J-45 RW, you'll be cryin' later. I let an old Country-Western go awhile back, and I'm still mad at me. I shoulda pretended I didn't even have it when I made the trade, and never put it on the table. Livin' with regrets is the worst part of havin' GAS, if you ask me. Momma says, you'll rue the day! Take out a loan, bro. Paying interest is easier to bear than wishin' you had that gitbox back if the new one ain't all that after a few months.
