MikeRom Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 The Volume pot on my '09 SG seems to work in the 0-1 range. Beyond that it seemes to be mostly full on. I would like a nice smooth volume increase as I turn the knob but would that be an audio taper pot or should I just get a quality linear taper pot ? Maybe a super pot?
yoda Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Check out this link to get an explaination of the Differance
80LPC Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Audio taper will give you the smoothest change in volume. Audio for tone pots also.
MikeRom Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Really? I heard the opposite. Not a big problem with my tone pot so much but the volume pot is real WTF. Sounds like audio taper is the way to go. Thanks guys -
yoda Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Audio is weird, most thing flow evenly. i.e. 2 times the voltage twice the light. Audio/sound is exponential i.e. 2 times the power small increase.......so to get a smooth audio adjustment you need a pot. that is non-linear.
