dem00n Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 They dont have em in any store near me. So are they any good?
brundaddy Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I think these days, the Fernandes's you're likely to come across are the lower end jobs. A friend has a KILLER neck-thru Fernandes Revolver (actually the one used by Type O negative's guitar player in their early era - an awesome guitar, glow-in-the-dark fretmarkers even). It is just amazing, the Sustainer is phenomenal! That is the only Fernandes I've played. Other than that, I know Kirk Hammett played em a p!ssload (before Metallica sucked). Hope this helps.
Thundergod Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 They are good guitars, but they are made in china which means they could (and should) cost a lot less than what they sell for (the good models sell for 1000 and above which would get you a nice USA made Fender or even a gibson). The lower end models are nice starter guitars, but I would go with epiphone better.
NeoConMan Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 No thanks. I know a few guys who play them, they're alright - for the price. I'd rather spend a guitar that's simply alright at any price. I don't support the Chinese manufacture of guitars in any way. I noticed the price tag on some of the imported Guild acoustics the other day - $2,000 on a Chinese guitar! No thank you very much! Thanks Fender, for destroying yet another legendary name....
Duende Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I noticed the price tag on some of the imported Guild acoustics the other day - $2' date='000 on a Chinese guitar! No thank you very much! [/quote'] If a guitar played great I wouldn't give a damn about what country it was made. Matt
