tanelson
My first post to the forum, and it's a boo to Gibson re: new 1962 Wilshire "reissue". Got the email with announcement link and was excited; checked out the piece and got more excited; saw the price and immediately called the local dealer and ordered a Collings 290 for less than half the list of the Wilshire. I love my Gibsons, but don't appreciate the way they are playing the collector field. This Wilshire should be made in lots of multiple hundreds and marketed to the same folks who would buy an LP or SG Special. Gibson should try promoting the Epiphone brand as one that offers quality and value, not exclusivity (Elitist line is the right idea, but the name is silly and off-putting). Gibson loses a brand loyalist on these.
