JonG
Hi there, I've got an issue with my 2004 R7 Goldtop, the markers at the 3rd and 15th frets are lose. The one at the 15th isn't so bad, but the 3rd really is a problem now as the end nearest the high E is getting close to being 1 mm higher then the fretboard. I would guess the marker has to be taken out, cleaned and glued back into position. I've never done more than a basic setup (Intonation, truss rod, etc, etc) on my guitars before so I wanted to ask can I fix this myself or should I get it done professionally?? Thanks!!! flyingarmadillo
If you're the orginal owner I would think that's a warranty issue
RichCI
Either take it to someone who repairs guitars or, if you're set on trying to fix it yourself, try asking in alt.guitar where several knowledgeable techs hang out. Most of the people here are players, not repair people or luthers.

retrosurfer1959
sorry didn't see this kind of carefully coming back on line here. the fret markers are usually just superglued down then the fretboard is sanded to final then fretted so your kinda walking a fine line here since you wont be able to sand the inlay down if you can clean it up and push it in flush I would glue it down but if your not comfortable take it to a pro. Ive owned hundreds of guitars and never had that happen yet where they come up partially usually there fine or pop off cleanly good luck
