Problem With Gibson Customer Service & New Guitar

I have been trying to contact Gibson Customer Service for the past three days. Prior to purchasing my guitar I was amazed by the customer service claims on the Gibson.com homepage. 98% of all calls are answered in 1 minute and emails are answered in one hour or less. I started emailing 3 days ago and have not heard anything yet. I have made 2 phone calls and one time I was on hold for 5 minutes and then was sent to a box that said my session had ended goodbye and then I was disconnected. My second call ended the same way after 10 minutes. I don't see how they can make these claims and then not even come close to living up to them. I am very disappointed so far! This morning I called back and pressed "0" for the operator. She forwarded me to the customer service manager and I had to leave a message with him. We'll see how that turns out.

The reason that I have been calling and emailing is that I just purchased a Gibson Explorer Pro and I am having some problems with it. I have a couple of issues that I am concerned with. If I am holding the guitar sitting down and I stop playing and I move the guitar I get a short static sound through the amp. Like something is shorting out when you move the guitar. Anytime I am holding the guitar still and then move it I get this static sound. I also get a great deal of "buzz" through the amp when I am holding the guitar but not touching the strings or anything metal. If you touch the bridge the buzz stops. Same thing if you touch the strings or anything metal on the guitar. It almost sounds like it is not grounded or something. I have two different amps and I have tried this on both amps and I get the same thing. I also have 2 different Monster cables and I get the same thing with both. I also have another electric guitar and when I plug it into the same amps using the same cables I do not have the problems. I love the guitar but this is very annoying. Any ideas?

Sorry with your frustration. I too enjoyed a good laugh when I saw how hard they were patting themselves on the back about their " Great customer service ". I would suggest that you go thru your retailer to either exchange or repair your explorer. Unfortunately Gibsons quality control appears to be all over the board these days. They may produce a real gem, then off the same production line comes a real DUD. I wish you well!
