So I borrowed a cello bow...

...from the music room in the school I teach at. (I told the orchestra teacher I had borrowed a cello and wanted to mess around with it, but didn't have a bow...) I then plugged in and tried my best to play Page's "Dazed and Confused." Within five minutes of sickening noise that made me think of the last time I was seasick, I put the bow down and picked up my pick. Perhaps there's a reason Page used a bow for that particular song...

I used to have a bow and the secret to make it sound good or as good as it can is to play one string at a time and preferably the higher strings higher up the fret board. It also sounds better to have delay vs. reverb. Like the Theremin they are both pretty limited in what to do with them and add them in a cool way to the music.
