iPhone apps

I just got an iPhone today, paid for it myself and am contributing for the data plan :D

Anyone know of some good useful apps out there?

Personally I like the Chord Master and Scale Wizard apps by D'Addario out there, seems to be helpful to me

Just looking for suggestions of some useful ones

I find GuitarToolKit to be pretty darn nice. It includes a tuner with support for a number of alternate tunings, a chord library, a metronome, fingerings for scales, etc. It was the first app I bought for my iPhone.

I'm also intrugued by iReal Book, too, but haven't bought it, though I might. If you use a "real book," you may find this useful. Contains a growing number of tunes, will transpose them, etc. Worth a look.

Speakng of the Iphone' date=' I have three questions. Will it read stand alone pdf files (not browser embedded pdf's) will it play flash videos, and are there any free apps or do you have to buy them all. The Blackberry has a lot of free apps, but won't read pdf's or play flash files. So I'm thinking of switching.[/quote']

Yes to all three

Does anyone know what app would need to be installed to watch flash videos in Safari's browser?

I am really not sure, sorry. I would try a search if I were you on either iTunes or on google. I have heard it is possible, but the only people that I know who have it have jailbroken it.

As far as I know' date=' there is no way to use Flash on an iPhone. YouTube converted their videos to play (through the YouTube app), and any other videos that can be played are H.264/MPEG.[/quote']

Yeah I tried a few of the methods suggested in some of the links provided in Jayla's post, but nothing worked. Shame since a lot of websites use embedded flash apps. The iPhone itself is very addicting. I got a 16gb 3gs on Friday eve. and it has totally consumed my weekend. I like it much more than my Crackberry 8310.
