milod Posted September 16, 2009 Share Posted September 16, 2009 Actually I think that sometimes we make too much of thumb placement one way or another rather than seeing the classical guitarist's way as one tool and the "thumb on string" way as another tool. Perhaps we're most guilty of determining one way is the only tool to use. Instead, we should argue with ourselves to determine which is most appropriate to do the job we want to have done. Some styles we might play almost require the classical guitarists' technique; others might require the thumb wrapping to a bass string; still others might seem to require neither approach or at minimum, not thinking about either approach per se. m Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
