Bluegrass in Vegas

Tried this a while back at the Lounge .................. no response!.

 

One of my work colleagues is off to Vegas tomorrow and would like to hear some live bluegrass. Are there any bars you folks would recommend?

There is a Southern Nevada Bluegrass Society. I found this with a quick ask.com search:

Curiously, the do not have a website. The listing does not say 'society' and I don't know what MSC means, but it could be one in the same. They might have a listing of jams or bands in the area.

Bluegrass? Well I have never been to anything down here that has bluegrass......but there must be someplace. When he or she flies in ask a cabbie. They know everyplace in and around the strip. About 3-4 miles south of the main strip is Stoney's http://www.stoneysrockincountry.com/events.asp But I have never been. "The Biggest Country Nightclub in Vegas" it says.

 

Sometimes upiu can catch a bluegrass group at house of blues, which is at mandala bay, on the strip., http://www.houseofblues.com/venues/clubvenues/lasvegas/

 

Fremont Las Vegas Country Saloon http://www.lvcountrysaloon.net/live_music_and_events.html Downtown is safe overall, but you have to keep you guard up sometimes (walking drunks everywhere).

 

Lot to do on the strip of course but it was always a good time at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville for a drink and heckle the people walking by on strip if you like that sort of thing. http://www.margaritavillelasvegas.com/index.php?

 

But Bluegrass?................wish I could be more helpfull. I just don;t follow it enough to know. Sorry. But like I said Cabbies know everyplace and every event going on on and off the strip.

ALLRIGHT!!! BLUEGRASS!!! Welcome to my world, fellas! Don't know anywhere in Vegas to find it, 'cause I've never been there. But if you come on down to Carolina, I play in a bluegrass band that performs every Friday night at 7:30 pm at Ford's Bluegrass Mill! Lots of talented musicians. We burn it down every Friday night! Come on down now, ya hear!!! :-&/

Don Carlos. Thanks so much. She flies out today with her boyfriend and she's very excited. He is a guitar player but no Gibsons. However, she thinks my Gibsons are the doggies danglers so I expect he'll be persauded otherwise very soon.

 

Larry. Mrs AJ and I are busy saving up the air miles for a trip to the States maybe next year. A trip to see you would be so great but we'll have to see how it goes. The kids want Disney World in Florida! I say Bozeman! It's going to be a long negotiation!
