max2343
I'm Getting a 1995 Les Paul Special SL Model. The Special is a Thinner Body Style Than a Regular Les Paul. Does Anyone Know if its Solid or Swiss Cheesed or Chambered? or is it Like built like a SG. Here is a Photo of it and its a Great Price
shotgunshooter3
Looks just like mine, but I paid $500! That's a great guitar, you will not regret it!
max2343
Yo Shooter. Tell me is Yours Light and Thinner Than a Regular Paul? Sorry I just Ordered This one online. Couldn't Pass on a 300 Dollar Gibson So I Haven't Played it or Even Seen it in Person.
AXE®
If it has a cap. It's weight relieved. If it's a flat or slab it's solid.
max2343
The Serial Came Back a SL Model that's All Mahogany, So No Cap and You Say, Solid. Thats Great, I'm Love-in it. That's What I Was Hoping For.
AXE®
If it is a flat slab then it is solid. You can't weight relieve a slab.

surfpup
As far as I know they are a solid slab. My neighbor has the same one - though I'm not sure if it's the exact same year. It plays great.
NeoConMan
Solid slab, just like an SG. GREAT guitars!!! I've always wanted two, one with humbuckers, the other with P-90's.
Tim Plains
Tell me something, if that's just one piece of wood, were did they hide all the wires and how are the pickups connected to the pots? Why are you saying it's a solid slab and why are you saying it's like an SG? SGs hide all their routing with a pickguard. Do you see a pickguard on this guitar? It has a cap on it. Maple, mahogany...whatever. Cuda, it's a '95? Unless it was made in the Custom Shop, it's not solid. The only Solid Les Pauls made after '93 are Custom Shop reissues. Nice guitar, congrats...and for only $300, you can't go wrong. Glad to see you're finally buying real guitars and not those Chinese things, malaka! :D

You don't need a cap to hide anything. They just drill from the bridge pickup rout into the control cavity and from the neck pickup into the switch cavity.
