Gassing for a tele now

I'm not a huge country fan but I did go see Brad Paisley last night and now I'm gassing for a tele.

I was too far away to see all the different amps he played thru but I know at least one was a Dr. Z and he had two Z cabs. I could tell there were at least 2 other type of amp heads.

I know he also likes to use G bender equipped tele's (not the B bender).

For a country concert.... he was rockin'

Whoever said Teles are for country only was wrong.

For example, Jhon5 plays mainly teles.

I play them and I play mostly rock. Never used them for metal as the pickups don't really work for it, but for classic rock to some hard rock the telecaster is the best guitar there is. Get one, you won't regret it.

Yeah I really never understood the I just play this brand or that brand. Like everybody I have my favorite. My go to axe. My mood and style I feel like playing most of the time leads me to the guitar i'm gonna play. Classic rock /les paul. Rockabilly or early Elvis/the gretsch. Country rock/Telecaster. Clean blues/ strat. Beatles/ the casino. I love em all.

At one point early on when the wife and I were struggling and we had 3 young kids and money was tight I couldn't afford new strings for my acoustic. A couple strings broke but I still played that sucker every night. After the kids were put to bed she would sit and read while listening to me play. Now as we approach 50 we are in good shape financially and she encourages me to get the guitars i'm gassin' for. I guess thats why I love playing just about any guitar. The lean years will make ya appreciate that.

Sorry for rambling on this morning. Sentimental mood I guess. cookie

Brad Paisly is great guitar player I bet it was a great show. I just got another Tele

that my mom got a a grarage sale and it plays like a dream. Like TG said you can

play rock. Few mine adjustments to the Marshalls and bang your rock'n. The Orange TT loves it. I play it more then my Gibsons now. I did some checking and

found out it was made in 73-74 at Fullerton Ca. Hey for a $120 bucks it rocks.

Johnny uses high gain pickups in his Teles though, even the neck pickup in his signature model looks like normal Tle pickup but it is called a "Twisted Tele".

Sorry but I have seen enough Teles in Nashville to last me 3 lifetimes over, I like some of the sounds they produce on other hands that is for sure.

Just saw Heart last night [for the 3rd time]. They use Tele's on at least a half dozen songs, though Nancy's is Humbucker clad.

Awesome show. They've still got it . . .

I played a tele a few months ago at a music store and I liked it but I can't remember which model it was. It had a switch on one of the control knobs that gave it some sort of mid boost or something. It played nice.

I just loved the sound that paisly got out of the tele and those dr. z amps.

I have a cheap($400 Cdn)MIM Tele and I love it.It has a maple fretboard and no mods at all.By twiddling the tone control you can play some pretty mean blues and rock on it.It's a lot more versatile than most people give it credit for.
