artmaker
In all my years of playing, my experience as far as single coil p/u's are concerned was limited to Strats and Teles. A couple of months ago I was browsing in a GC and tried out a SG Classic they had just brought out for display. As you can see it went home with me........an amazing sounding guitar.......I can't put it down. Anyone else have one of these? How do you like it? Phantom123
I just got an SG Classic as well, 600$ for it, virtually mint. Love the heck out of it, it really is as good as it looks!
tbonesullivan
They are awesome guitars. Why they call it a "classic" and not a "special" is beyond me, because originally the specials had the P90s. But then again these have real tailpieces and bridges, while the original specials had the wrap around bridges, sometimes with a vibrola. Anyway, if you need to get your P-90 fix, the SG classic will get you there!
GibsonBlues1959
I too have experienced the single coil strats and teles, I played an SG Classic and fell in love with it. And I just got mine two days ago and I can't put it down. WHAT AN AWESOME GUITAR!!!!!! The P90's are great for all types of music.
uyasgali
The tone I get from my P90's and my twin just makes me grin...maybe that is why it is Classic.
artmaker
I've been running my Classic through a '65 Fender Showman 15....awesome tone for blues. This guitar has some great jazz tones as well.

NeoConMan
Shouldn'ta sold mine. (On the right) I LOVE P-90's, got 'em in a few other guitars as well. There's more to the world than humbuckers. A whole world of various single coils awaits he who seeks them....
GibsonBlues1959
And for the price, the finish and quality of mine is perfect , the fret work is perfect and the neck binding is wonderful.......right out of the box too, all I had to do was tune it and away I went. I'm looking at that 61 re-issue now, but it'll be awhile before I can afford one of those. later.
