SG dude
Personally i find no fault in my case, but i've known people to complain about them (dont really know why) but one said it was so that he had one without the gibson logo on it, to keep it outt the way from thiefs and stuff, but a few people here have mentioned it too, so i have to ask, Do you use your case that you get with the SG (if you got a case) and if not, i'd really like to know which case do you use?? i went a look on the web and found this http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/hardcases_detail.asp?stock=05030714521318 its the only non-logo'd case i could find locally, it does look very sturdy, has anyone used this, or know what they are like??? thanks again. DAS44
I like my case. I dont care if it has gibson written on it. The only things I will advertise for are guitars.
Dub-T-123
I have a Gator SG case. The fit is not very snug around the horns but it's very protective. I got my SG new for about $800 so I had to get it without the case. It was the only way I could afford a standard at the time. I'd like the Gibson one with the white plush but what are you gonna do, right?
Nick Beach
I'd like the Gibson one with the white plush but what are you gonna do' date=' right?[/quote'] I got a great deal on a new to me sg, I like the case that came with my standard so much I want a second for the new one. I've got every guitar center in 100 miles trying to find me one. I got ahold of Gibson and they said they can't just sell me one...lame.

Guitar Center, eh? :-) Gibson CANNOT sell you a case. Gotta go through a dealer. Franchise agreement ya know. If they did sell you a case, it would be at the full MSRP list price.... Try Ebay. Dub-T-123
Yeah I did get it at guitar center. My friend works there so I was able to get a good discount. Other than that I don't shop there. By the way... the case I like even more than the white plush one is the brown one with the reddish-pink plush. Those are so cool! I would get one but I've been saving for a new amp head and right when I had the money one of my favorite bands is playing a concert at a sweet venue that I couldn't pass up. Tickets were like $70 bucks which set me back for about another month on the amp.
GibsonBlues1959
I think it's rediculous that Gibson doesn't sell the SG case, even to stores. From what I understand Gibson has discontinued the sale of the SG case and the only way to get one is to buy a new SG that comes with a case or from "the bay". So I bought mine from "the bay". It is supposed to be here today or tomorrow. I prefer the one that says Gibson on it, so that's what I bought. good luck
NeoConMan
From what I understand Gibson has discontinued the sale of the SG case PLEASE tell me you didn't hear this from Guitar Center. That sort of sh!t is right up their alley. Anyhow' date=' I decided to throw the bullsh!t flag on this one so I called Gibson Customer Service. Turns out the story is [i']kinda[/i] correct - wherever you heard it from.... More and more Gibsons are now leaving the factory in gigbags, so there are fewer cases to be had. Gibson doesn't have a bunch of extra ones laying around because they don't manufacture them. The word I got is to do what I was gonna suggest anyway, get one directly from one of the case manufacturers. TKL has made cases for Gibson forever, that would be a good place to start. Cedar Creek is the consumer division of TKL, who makes the cases in Canada. Their phone number is 800-370-2991 Good luck!

lpdeluxe
I bought a Special Faded last December. It came with a gig bag, and I prefer hard cases, so I got a TKL made for the Gibson SG (they also make one for the Epi SG, but it has different dimensions). I'm one of those guys who doesn't care to advertise "Gibson Inside" when I'm out gigging at some honky tonk, so I'm happy...although the Gator brown/pink case is gorgeous. I didn't get the Gator for the simple reason that my local dealer doesn't carry that brand, and I traded in a bass case and the gig bag on the TKL (another reason to not drive 130 miles to the nearest GC). My instruments stay in their cases, as per the photo: The SG is the one with the brass fittings, 5th from the right, next to a Les Paul.

Hi, I emailed Gibson asking about a case and why did musicians friend tell me it was discontinued. I recieved an email back and was told that the SG cases were being discontinued for sale as individual cases, but that they do come with certain SG models. I guess this is "close" to what they told you. sort of?
NeoConMan
Yep. As far as the Gibson logo on the case, I couldn't care less. My case is to PROTECT my guitar, and a logo does nothing to that end. It could say Epiphony or ACME for all I care. If my guitar is in the case, I don't really want anybody expressing any interest in it. When I'm moving guitars for any reason, I feel best about the Fender rectangle cases that aren't shaped like a guitar. Lotsa people have no clue there may be an instrument contained within, and I'm a big fan of stealth.....
