Totally UNBELEIVABLE!!!

One thing that has to be FACT here' date=' they have done a massive deal with the Hendrix estate, but hell Jimi must be turning in his grave. That is one CRAPPY looking guitar. I am not going to even mention that amp.[/quote']

But wait, if Gibson has permission from the Hendrix Estate, can't they still be sued by Fender for the Strat design?

Looking at the Gibson site the Hendrix is a seperate brand from Gibson like Epi.

I want to know where this thing is being made' date=' by the price it can't be in the US[/quote']

Yea like I said earlier on the thread I do not see the Gibson logo on this guitar, the MSRP is low so the street price is even lower.

Where is made? a hint is the guitar poster you see in the background of one of the picks, that is the poster that comes as case candy with some Epi's one came with my Casino.

No mate they cannot. The Les Paul and Strat shapes have for many years been classed as public domain shapes. Anyone can make them.

Ah, I was just wondering because in the review section for one of the guitars, one person had said, that a lawsuit was coming just like Gibson suing PRS, and what goes around comes around.

Hey sorry guys .... it's all my fault.

I had a flashback of sorts this morning and I went to see what I had written a few weeks ago

about Gibson & original guitars...

Check out the post I did :

http://forums.gibson.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=281270#post281270

I criticized gibson for not being original and they responded much faster than I expected.

I really didn't think I had that much influence over them ... Jeez , they even tried to make a lefty !

Too bad that it turned into a nightmare.

So, since I hold so much power over them, I'll try using my influence again , this time for the making of a good guitar.

Hmmm ... I seem to recall that H-Bomb had some specific details about how

he'd like to get his SG's built ...

Don't worry H-Bomb , your dream guitar is on the way !

Any other requests ? =P~

Definitely not made in the USA.

But these are:

These will have a +$3,000 MSRP - due to Transtrem, and assembled on the same production line as all other Gibson USA models in Nashville.

I think I'm gonna be sick.

Why would they do this? Who would buy this? Seriously, if you're so interested in the Hendrix image that you'd be willing to buy this, why wouldn't you just buy a regular Fender strat? That's what Hendrix actually played, it's not like he played a sh!tty replica with his signature on it. So.... I don't really see the market for this guitar is other than ridiculously uninformed people. All I can see this doing is making Gibson look bad.

What's even more sickening is that we see now all this Hendrix hype is just to build up the release of their guitar. Gibson doesn't really give a sh!t about Hendrix, all they care about is exploiting his image. It's futile to get mad at a business for a cheap money making move, but man, **** Gibson on this one.
