sierra trekker
I'm interested in one of the new block inlay models with the burstbuckers. Since I can't find one local to play, I've got some questions. The neck is listed as a "1963" slim neck profile...............how does that differ from a "60's" slim neck profile? And I was wondering how the burstbuckers differed in sound on the 335 from the 57's? Thanks in advance for any answers.

I want to buy a ES 335 but I don't know what model to choice between es 335 reissue block 1963with clasic 57 pick up (very expansive...) and the new block with burtsbuckers pick up......(less expansice than 63!!) I hope somebody to help us.... Alas I can't find one local to play in France..... Thanks in advance for any answers Have a good day.
Custom Admin
it's the same neck profile as far as i know...to my ear, BurstBuckers are a bit more mid-rangy than '57s, but tone is subjective...

To my ears the PAF-type pickups I have in my guitars are: Seymour Duncan '59's - scooped mids, bright and with rich bass. Very clear. Neck pickup especially good. Balanced set. Classic '57's - Flatter eq. Balanced sound across eq. Not a set; same pickup in treble and bass positions. Smooth treble. Burstbucker 1 & 2's - More low-mid range; 'phatter'. More punch. Neck a little muddy but great for slide, bridge is rich, powerful with bite. Balanced set. Hope this helps
