Fits great in a backpack, and I've never had a problem getting it through security. I use one of these little VOX Amplug or my Pandora with a set of headphones. It is only about 2 1/2 x 1 x 1 inches, no speaker, you have to use headphones. But, I sometimes run my computer speakers directly into it so I'm not tied to it. I'm not worried about a guitar, this trip is for the kid, I'm sure I'll wonder off and find a club, (pub, in Europe)....
