scrappy569
Hey everyone this is my first post=d> , and i have a bunch of questions about my Gibson SG. I obtained this guitar about 4 years ago from my grandparents, it use to be my uncles who sadly passed away when he was very young. From my knowledge, i think its a 1967 i don't intend to sell this but, to get as much information as i can about it. how much is it worth, is the year correct, what type of guitar is it standard or JR, is the color unique, or anything else that will help me understand more about it. the only thing i know about this guitar is, i can play it, it was my uncles, and it might be a 1967. sorry if this is in the wrong area and i hope its not. Thanks for taking the time to help me with my research on this guitar.. i can take more pictures if necessary and the back serial number is wood stamped. the number is 002899. just click to enlarge them Chris
pohatu771
It's a Gibson Melody Maker. The SG body style was used after 1966, so your 1967 date is probably correct. The colour isn't terribly odd... the Melody Makers, particularly the SG model, came in some non-standard colours, as far as Gibson goes. They were quite "Fender-y."
