It's just the next step in a long evolutionary process as technology races us farther and farther into the future at break-neck speed.

Guitars like that have been designed with cutting edge and often complex electronics to craft a desired sound, whether it be pick-up splitting, phasing, mid range or treble boost, or what have ya.
