alli71 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 is there a way to find out the history of my lp? like is there a registery type thing? i know i registered my luna so i was wondering if there was a trail for my lp... just curious who has had her. this may seem like a stupid question but its been on my mind.... shes wine colored, gold hardware, a 1993? and her serial number is 90353xxx it says studio on the name plate but i just noticed it says gibson deluxe on the tuners does that always say that or is it a studio deluxe- i have no idea what the difference is. i'm new to all this so i have weird questions i am trying to look before i ask- thanks!
pohatu771 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 The tuners are labelled Gibson Deluxe. It's a throwback to the Kluson Deluxe tuners used on many Gibson (and other) instruments in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Gibson kept using the style, but made their own.

NeoConMan Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 is there a way to find out the history of my lp? One surprisingly valuable source is Gibson Cutomer Service. Somebody there 24/7 at 800-444-2766. Choose option 1 on the touch-tone roulette wheel. If they still have build records for it, they can tell you more than you could ever ask for. Pickups, paint, neck wood, original list price, and maybe even some odd little nugget of trivia or two. Now, edit your post and replace the last 3 digits of your serial with xxx to keep counterfeiters at bay. :D/ Welcome to the forum, and God bless Texas! If that's you in the pic - watch out for the wolves! Neo
alli71 Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 Thanks- i didn't think about the issue of fake ones being imprinted with my serial number! i just might give gibson a call.... i thought about it but somewhere i got the idea they wouldn't give me on it anymore like they used too.... anmd yes its me in the picture- and i live by the motto- sweetest tongue hath sharpest tooth... so wolves don't even think about it... :-P

Sorry if that is a stupid question I would just like to know a little bit about a couple of guitars.
