tripleskillet
I bought this Sg a while back. Sounds great but a little beat up, a player if you will. The serial numbers indicate that it is a 1979 model as well as the "The SG" truss rod cover, and lack of headstock veneer. The Gold water slide Gibson logo is missing. My question to anyone out there is this. This particular model is said to have uncovered TGA super humbuckers "velvet brick" but this guitar has nickel covers on both neck and bridge pickup. While cleaning it up I pulled the pups and there are now ID numbers of any kind. Are these original gibson pups or some after market knock off. They sound really good. Just trying to line up a little history on this guitar. Any help is much appreciated.
