daveinspain
I was just having a look at some of Arlen's lessons and stumble on the Green Onions lesson. Very cool bluesy riff to jam on...

FirstMeasure
That may have been the 4th song I ever learned. Donald "Duck" Dunn and Steve "The Colonel" Cropper. Doesn't get any better than that.
milod
Yeah, I think most "old guys" have done this one a lot at one time or another. Roy Buchanan - links to several other of his versions and each one better than the others. <grin> It's one piece that definitely sounds better with a band than trying to do solo guitar. m

KSG_Standard
Great song, great band...a little music trivia, you all probably know anyway...Booker T. and the MGs were the house band for Stax, the Funk Brothers were the house band for MoTown and The Wrecking Crew(with Glen Campbell as one of the pickers) were the session musicians from L.A. Together these bands and musicians recorded on a HUGE majority of the famous records from the late '50s-'70s...Mucho talent among these folks. LOL Dave, I've followed Arlen's lesson some months ago because he plays it another way like I used to. We played it 30 years with my first band. Arlen plays it very economicly and hardly moves his fingers. It's great to play it like this!
Twiz
I love Booker T & The MG's. Their music has this cool vibe that I've never heard from any other band. I love listening to them when I'm driving.
