Thundergod
Let me start by saying Gibson straps suck, at least the ones Ive seen for sale online and locally. Do you guys use one strap for each guitar you own? (regardless of it being played frequently or not at all). I have 1 strap for each guitar, even for those that never get out of their cases, and I chose them to match certain part of the guitar or the rig... I have a friend who owns 35 giutars and 1 strap... which is kind of ridiculous IMO With my moded melody maker I was planing on dice knobs so I bought a planet waves strap that had cards on it... I didnt install dice knobs and I went with a kind of vintage look so I got one of these: I think it looks great (aside from it having Fender writen on it). Now I have black straps for most of my guitars (white leather for the white studio) but all of them are different quality, I have a white dimarzio strap for the white jackson (it just looked right!) and one of those in black for the charvel. BUT My Standard Faded has a planet waves strap that at first looked like a nice detail.. but now looks cheesy IMO, what do you think? (pic below) and what strap would you use with that guitar? I dont want black and I dont want a fender strap for it
flyingarmadillo
I use Moody straps on everything. http://moodyleather.com/indexfl.html Kinda pricey but well worth it for the comfort. She used to have a vintage series that looked like the Fender strap, it may still be available as a custom order. Vintage strap on my SG:
Thundergod
Wow, that one looks great, ,and it matches the guitar so well... I'll check them up right now, thanks!
EVOL!
For me, the strap has to fit the guitar based on weight. My SG uses a standard strap while my much heavier Sheraton uses a wide strap. My lightest guitar gets a thin leather strap like that tan Fender (sorry for using the F word) one. My favorite straps are Souldier . They are Chicago based and the woman that makes them is very nice (met her in person on more than one occasion). Wilco uses Souldier straps too. What more endorsement do you need than that? DAS44
My dad got me one for my birthday last year... It's comfortable..... and anyway I only got one guitar to use it on :-&/ but if I had more I'd only use that one
KSG_Standard
I use one strap for all my guitars...all the axes have schallers on them and the strap is schaller equipped. My strap is from Eyeland Enterprises.
Californiaman
Each of my guitars has it's own strap. The Telecaster, a padded light brown leather and vintage tweed looking Fender strap that I swear is the most comfortable strap. The Stratocaster, a padded sienna red and gold aligator pattern from Levi Straps. The ES-175, a nylon tie on strap. The Alembic, a soft black leather strap that is about three inches wide. DeVeeWee
Each guitar has his strap. Here are some of them...
DeVeeWee
Hey DeVee I have 3 of those Fender straps Jocko, in 20 years you'll still have them. Mine is as mint and dates from 1989...don't underestimate Leo's work...

Andre S
I use that too in black, its thin like the one Slash uses.
djroge1
I don't have one for every guitar - just haven't gotten around to buying them all one; most have their own, but not all. My favorite strap is made by Franklin Straps and it's the 3" padded glove line.
Kolera
I use something similar, same width, black, without the shoulder-thingy (never had a problem with it digging in to shoulder). Don't know who makes it. 1 for each guitar.
EVOL!
Hmmm. Anyone else like really decorative straps like me or is it utilitarian for most of you? Even something subtle like my strap here
Tim Plains
I use one strap for each type of guitar. 1 for all the LPs, 1 for the SG, etc. All my straps are pretty much the same. Those thin Levi's suede straps - black on one side, tan on the other. Except the SG, it has an all tan thicker Levi's suede strap. They're all plain, too. Just the L for Levi's. I love those thin black ones... Thunder, I have two similar brown straps like you posted, they come with the R9s. Honestly, I've never even pulled them out of the plastic. Same with the Custom Shop cable they give you. lol

Riffster
I use a Levy's for my LP, Explorer and Casino. Belt-like so easy to adjust. For Fenders I use a Planet Waves, black and grey. This is the Levy's, is like a heavy duty version of that Fender strap above and at only $30 it is a steal> The strap is very long too, this pick is a sample I guess. Old Deadhead
I like these TG. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PW25LS01D I own 5 Onorio straps that came from Sweetwater also, but they dont list them on their site anymore. They are my favorites.
King Matthew
One strap per guitar, some are duplicates. Some match, some don't. Some are tacky and bright, some are plain. Mostly use Levy's.
Murph
I bought a really nice, heavy leather "The Gibson" logo strap at Opry Mills a few months ago, but I doubt you can get them down there Thunder..... I threw away the tag, but I think it was made in Franklin, Tenn. Sorry....

Mr. Natural
I've got two or three straps, but my favorite is the Moody. I bought one maybe eight to ten years ago at the Dallas Guitar Show at the Moody table. Allison "Miss Moody" (can't recall her last name; Moody is, I think, her father's nickname) was very helpful, very cordial, and SMOKIN' HOT. The strap was kind of pricey, but I couldn't resist. When I was a kid, I thought nothing smelled as good as a new baseball glove. A new Moody strap smells that same way.
surfpup
Yes and no. My Les Pauls share a strap because it keeps them at the same height. However, different type guitars require different straps to achieve a given height, and I wear some guitars higher than others. I keep my super Strat higher than my regular Strat for example, and the Tele sits somewhere in between - so they each get a strap. Make sense? That said I have been buying Dunlop Red Monkey straps lately - very thick, quality leather and mostly less than $50 at MF. They ain't Moody straps, but they are all leather and about a third of the price or less!
MrClam
I have two, my planet waves one that looks almost identical to TG's, which I use most often because... My other strap is a black Levis leather strap with the metal pyramid studs, not quite my look. Both of which were given to me by my friend so I could stop using the plain black squire strap that came with my squire.
