Tim Plains
You should try the Epiphone section. http://forums.epiphone.com/

NeoConMan
I have no clue how Epiphone does their serial number protocol. Sorry. Email Gibson Customer Service, they will usually help clarify information about it. Not a huge issue, but none of those guitars is worth much money. If the legitimacy is in such question, how much is the asking price? Making a fake Epi (though it happens) is sorta like counterfeiting pennies. How could you possibly make a profit? But you couldn't sell a penny for $200+. You forget, many of the counterfiet guitars out there aren't built from scratch, so the "production" cost is WAY low.
