Riffster
Pride & Glory kicks ***!!! I really like the slower song Cry Me River, contagious southern Rock, Tele twang and then a hard rock solo...
tazzboy
Actually Ozzy is the one that made the change http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/07/13/ozzy-osbourne-says-hes-dropping-zakk-wylde-i-wanted-a-change/
NeoConMan
You eat food from McDonalds' date=' but you don't like Epiphone?[/quote']Well, the Chicken Selects anyway. White meat, not the mystery matter they stamp nuggets out of.... Their burgers suck for the most part. The new Angus Whatever thing they're doing is okay, had one of those about a month ago. Even when I'm gutter-crawling and slumming, I'm picky about my chow! =D>/
DPhillips
Never did appreciate Zack's work. Not sure why. Just never spoke to me. But, then again, I'm old and not much beyond 1979 speaks to me....

NeoConMan
Never did appreciate Zack's work. Not sure why. Tell me that after you've listened to Pride & Glory about a dozen times. Nothing else he's ever done comes close, and if you don't like him then..... I saw him twice in P&G and once more doing an acoustic show. Saw him in BLS two or three times - that's the sh!t I don't care for. Started to get a little too far up his own Rock Star *** for my taste. Some of the songs are okay, most are just over-wrought and over-done. Like 80% of the Ozzy stuff.
DPhillips
Neo, I admit I've only listened to Pride and Glory a couple of times (figured I was missing something the first go around), but haven't listened to it that much. Then again, I'm fairly uncultured, so what I say doesn't mean much...
solacematt
I like Zakk's music up until 2004's Hangover Music. I think that was his last good album. He's had a few cool songs since than, but overall the albums have kinda sounded thrown together :) All his albums prior to that though were great. NeoConMan
I admit I've only listened to Pride and Glory a couple of times Well, I guess you aren't really a fan then - are you? :) Harumph!!! :-) Yeah, like I was sayin before. That P&G album is the litmus test in my opinion, few have heard it. Especially since it came out in like 1993, before many of the Zakk wannabe's were born... That's really the only Desert Isle disc he's done in my opinion and it never gained wide acceptance.

NeoConMan
Yeah, I caught that one too. Buddy of mine LOVED it. Me? Eh... His playing was top-notch but a LOUD acoustic just doesn't sit well with my nerves. Piezo bridge -> processor -> flanger/effects -> amp -> PA with the volume on 11. In my opinion, it sounded like complete and utter sh!t. Shrill, brassy, tinny, everything I hate. Small club in downtown Houston too - couldn't get away from the PA in that place. Two hours of that sh!t, not a single song on a Les Paul. Shoulda known when we walked in - no Marshalls on the stage. Afterwards, I gave the cd away to a friend. Don't like talking sh!t about such a talented player, but that was not my cup of tea at all. Gonna play an acoustic? Then stick a microphone in front of it so it SOUNDS like an acoustic!
