fabby
Hi I have a serious tone problem on my Les Paul Studio: the low E-string sounds much too loud compared to the other strings. When I play the E string I distinctly hear a loud resonating B overtone which really amplifies the sound too much,. It seems to me that my Les Paul has a high resonance peak when I play a B note (ex on the 4th fret, 4th string). I checked with different amps- same issue . Does anyone know what I should adjust on my Les Paul to avoid this? I have tried to screw the pole pieces on both pickups a little lower, but it doesn't help. surfpup
Adjust the pole pieces themselves. If they won't go any lower, you may need to raise the others to achieve the balance you seek.
