I bought a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Darkback re-issue.

I looked even on the serial number tab on the Gibson website but that didn't even help. Even the decoder website thing in the pinned topics. please help..

The serial number is : 771693

thats from the back of the guitar but on the certificate of authenticity says the following:

LPR-7

771693

PLEASE HELP ASAP.

Try the MYRRRR

M is the model year being reissued

Y is the production year

RRR® indicates the guitar's place production for that year. NOTE: This number includes all models for a particular reissue year - so, for example, a 1958 Reissue serial number may include '58 Reissue LP Standard and '58 Explorer production.

No I don't think it real real one. You made comment that you bought it was reissue. The only other advice I can give is to contact Gibson Customer Service service@gibson.com

They can give the year it was manufacture.
