Flatter Picker Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Looking to purchase a round-shouldered vintage Gibson (SJ, J-45, J-50, etc.) or 30s L-00. Tone and structural integrity are priorities...aesthetics not so much. Thanks in advance for any leads!
guitarstrummer Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Welcome to the forum, Flatter Picker. It's nice to see someone else from Colorado is spending time here too.
Flatter Picker Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Just to close up...found a '57 Gibson Southern Jumbo local to me here in the Denver area...she needs a bit of work (and I wish that some of the work that has been done hadn't been done) but the sound is right there. Thanks to those who offered advice; I appreciated the input.
ballcorner Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Can you please define vintage more clearly so I can provide a response?
LPDEN Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Another good way is to give your wish list to dealers who deal in large amount of used/vinatge gear. Also hit some of the guitar shows, but get there early and bring cash for the best deals.
