Why be a Mod. I Mean I come here Sometimes just to Waste Time.

Why would you Want to be a Mod? Isn't it like this All the Time

-------------->

What's the Deal? Why do you Do it.

Is it a Power Trip or your are you Just Doing it out of the Kindness of your Heart?

Do they Give you Anything besides the Powers to possibly be a Axe-man

by the Ban/Banish-Botton.

Do you get a Guitar. Even a Factory 2nd. A stool. A T-Shirt. A Guitar Pick?

Anything at All? If not, Why would you Take the Position?

Well then Why. I vote and Demand that they at Least Send you a Guitar pick

for Each Day. And I Still wanta know "Why do you do it"

I'm Really Why--- Does that Title Get-cha-Chicks--What is it.

Hrm.... no chicks' date=' plus I'm already hitched... Plus I hardly think a hot dame would find appeal in someone being an Epi or Gibson Mod......... but who knows, there's all kinds of strange fetishes out there.:-k

Personally, I don't need any picks, we have enough Hello Kitty picks in the washer, dryer, on my amp, the floor and in just about every corner of the house[biggrin']

As for the why??? Good question!!! Maybe that's a better question for the Admins. But if I had to guess, it 's because we just can't depend on everyone to act like big boys and girls all the time...... because after all, we are only human.:-k

Their is always Going to be problems with People not Following the Rules

but Why be the one in charge of Enforcing them? Why be a Mod here.

If their is no Monatary Rewards' date=' Why would one Do it?

Out of the goodness of their hearts, knowing that they are making something they care about better

It is like volunteering without having to leave the house, make the world a better place :-k/

I became a mod because I was asked by Shadow. I get nothing. I have no connection with Gibson other than owning several of them.

That's not Good Enough. If I Asked you to jump off a Bridge or if Shadow Did? Would you?

Theirs got to be more to it. We all need to Know your Motivation behind it.

Just Asking. Just Wondering

I suspect each would have his or her own reasons. Is there a specific answer you're hoping to find? Or is there some other reason for asking?

Now If one of them Said that. I'd Buy it, but just Saying 'Well just Because" or "They asked me"

would lead one to just think. Well you Know

Because they like it here.

Because they want to do something to help make it a better place.

Because they have some available time, the necessary skills and were asked if they would.

Because they don't want to see Gibson ditch the completely optional forum altogether, and they think Gibson might if things become anarchistic.

/shrug It's not that deep a question... why does anyone do volunteer work of any kind?

The answers can be fathomless.

Is that what you're looking for DogMan? Or was it specifics for THE Gibson mod Squad?

If the latter, then please forgive my intrusion :-k

Nothing Specific. Just looking for an Honest Answer and Wondering Why.

I'd think you'd have to have a Certain motivation to Fit in as a Mod

Somebody has to enforce the rules, whether it be you, me or anyone else.

Again you would have to ask the Admins "why" we were asked.

Not everyone needs to do things for money.

I'm just Thinking they Should Get Something if they Took the Position For Nothing.

It's almost Christmas and They Have Been Doing it a While.

If the Motivation was True and they Have been Kool and Fair

Damn--Toss-em a Bone---Gibson

Honestly what would be better is Gibson to raffle off two Gibson guitars for it's forum members that have a 6 month tenure or longer.........

That's where the appreciation should be directed IMO...... at the contributing members.

Very interesting, Dog-man-thing! I gotta admire that trait, sir, as I have almost none of that in me and am likely less wealthy for it!

On the other side of that coin, though, I belong to an organization that is nearly 100% run by volunteers. Outside of some weekends of fun every year, and some pretend awards of titles or lands, no one gets a thing. In fact, it ends up costing most a sizeable portion of their income. For some, it requires a commitment of one year... pretty much every weekend. Free, as in you don't get paid, not so free in that it costs to travel and attend the functions... every single weekend for a year. Amazing, I know, and yet they line up for the chance.

So I guess, it's really a perspective thing as to whether or not there needs to be compensation, or are they compensated enough already.

I'm guessing...
