Bitcrazed
I recently recieved a replacement Gibson pickguard (model number PRPG030) for my Epiphone Les Paul Std. Alas, the (as yet unopened) pickguard appears to be more a flesh-tone rather than the expected pale cream color of pickup surrounds etc. Is this just because of the plastic film wrapping the guard or is this to be expected? Thundergod
mine (the one that came with my standard faded) is that flesh tone you say... the only ones i have seen recently that are more creamy are the ones on epiphone les paul standards... but of course, my local gibson dealer only has 8 gibson guitars, 4 are studios, 2 are sgs, and only 2 standards (one faded). Does it look like the one in my signature?
Plank_Spanker
I would not expect any true standards between Epi and Gibson. While the brands are linked, they are worlds apart.
Steve Sgro
The pickguard that came with my Studio Premium Plus is flesh colored as well. I will not install it because of the strange color. I noticed all the pickguards on the new LPs at my local Guitar Center are flesh toned as well. Ugly.
3dmac
The epi color is parchment: giby color is cream. Here is what i'm putting on my avi LPSTD wine red: Look at the screen at slight angle to get the true shade.
Thundergod
really nice... i have to say i do like the creamy/fleshy pickguards... as long as they match the pickup rings color.
Bitcrazed
Ugh! That's a pain. Anyone know if Epi has parts for order? They don't appear to have such a service online

shanehouston
With age shouldn't it get creamier?
