Dub-T-123
I seriously love my SG Standard. It is my favorite guitar. I always play other guitars and I think wow this feels and sounds great. Then I play my SG again and it's like coming back home... It just feels right! I will buy as many of the nicest guitars I can afford , but the SG is the guitar for me! dickey
The 60's SG's were the best looking guitars & sounded great,& I love my '61, but the best sounding guitar is,was,& always will be an old Telecaster--no guitar is more soulful & versatile. Even an old Strat can't scream like a Tele.

Ronnie Robinson
Dont know, its certainly one of the most Iconic together with a Les Paul and a Strat , but the greatest ? In any case it is extremely good, a superb chucky neck, great tones, great upper access and is light and comfortable to wear on a strap

Dub-T-123
chucky? He's talking about the SG Standard. The subject of the thread. I like both slim and chunky necks. My next SG will have a slim neck.
Ronnie Robinson
Yes well it was supposed to say ' Chunky' meaning quite big, thick etc
Sailjunkie
I bought a used SG Standard a while back in Natural Burst, and it is a SWEET guitar! I picked it up for around $900.00. Has a few scratches and nicks, but plays really nice. It is now a part of my collection (some 18 guitars...I think). (I'd attach a picture if I could figure out how...on this website anyway).
