mikefjohnson
Hi there, I have an SG (Epi not Gibson), and I need help. When I select the middle poisition on my 3-way switch (both humbuckers active), does only one volume and tone control work? The reason I ask is because both picks work fine on their own, but when I use them together, only one volume and tone work, and I don't know if this is right or not???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
EVOL!
From what I know, this is how Epiphones are wired. You'd have to rewire the toggle switch to change that.
mikefjohnson
Not interested in re-wiring, just didn't know if it was normal for only one volume and tone to work when both pickups were active, or if there was a problem with my guitar. 80LPC
Sounds like a dirty / faulty switch. Select the middle position and gently push down the 6th string onto each pickup screw just to see if they both click and are really in the same circuit. Blackie
They are wired that way.
craigr726
Blackie's right, far as I know. The top (neck/rhythm pickup)'s control the both/middle/combo switch position.
drumrnmuzik
They are wired that way. Yep, you can volume down to zero one of the pups and use the toggle your toggle switch as a kill switch that way. My Gibson SG is the same way.
