Any of you think there's a way to get them to get along? [cool]

Most girlfriends I've had have been jealous of my guitars... one even took one and gave it away without my knowledge (when I found out I dumped her... so maybe she had good reason to be jealous[cool] )

Has any of you guys had any such experiences?

OMG are you serious?

She stole the effing guitar?

You sure know how to pick 'em.

Well she sure knew how to move 'em :-

Seriously... she gave the f'in thing to a friend of hers... after I dumped her I called the little prick and asked him to pay the guitar' date=' he offered to give it back but I demanded money for it. Ended up costing him more than what the guitar actually costed... wonder if "it" was worth the difference in $[lol

So far (1 year last Sunday) no problems at all with the present one. She said she decided we were really a couple when I took one of the acoustics over to her place and left it there. She plays occasionally and has no problem with me picking up a guitar whenever. However, I am careful about giving her at LEAST equal time!! :- One had a few issues with it but she didn't last long anyhow.

No sir. My wife loves for me to play guitar. In fact... SHE is the one who walks over to the 3 pup Black Beauty and says "this one's pretty, you should get it."

I got no woman/guitar blues.

Not quite a blues tune, but it has potential...

ChanMan comment makes me wanna share this with you guys:

You know how I knew my current girl was a keeper? (we are engaged and will be married soon)

Everytime I tell her I like a guitar she tells me to buy it:-"

Ok ok not only that... she is just perfect for me, but allowing me to buy whatever guitar-amp-pedal I want sure gets her an edge over any other girl I've ever known :-

My girlfriend always encouraged me to buy the guitars I wanted. Now we are engaged and I told her I was going to buy a new amp in the summer. She said 'couldn't we save that money for the wedding instead?" It got really awkward around here for a couple of days.

I'm with you, ChanMan... my wife bought me my Dove, (back in 1980)....and lived through me buying an additional 10-11 more.... mic's... amps.... effects.....

She LOVES it when I play, (no taste in music, I suspect).

well, I mean, the wedding does have the priority right now... you can always buy a new amp later..

I worked on a 2nd job last winter, most of the Saturdays, just to gather enough cash to do 2 things:

1. fly to Athens and see AC/DC live

2. Buy my Les Paul Studio.

And my wife found it reasonable. I can't really complaint. She is the one complaining that there is no mystery / surpises for my birthday / X-Mas presents any morre. They are all guitar-related!

As the kids got older and took up more of my attention playing weekend warrior came to an end and I sold all my stuff except for my acoustic. Christmas 06 she suprised me with a sunburst Casino because I'm a big Beatles fan. She loved to watch me play when I was in bands and always encouraged my music. Now that the kids are all grown and moved out she enjoys it whenever I get the chance to play out or jam with buds.

She has no problem with me getting any guitar that I'm gassing for. She looks at them as pieces of art. She's the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm blessed what can I say.
